Little Lovers
by: Arianna Silva
God, God.
I think I love him? I think I love him! It’s that russet maned
boy
In my math class.
His hair is floppy and furls around his eyes
Like a little
Clark kent curl
His eyes
are so black
and intense!
As if
the night was staring back at me.
It’s that long
sleek
black haired boy
In my math class.
His braids
were decorated with white bands.
Like the branches
of a willow tree.
His skin was tawny
Smooth and sweet.
And his lips
So delicate and kind
As if a butterfly landed on his face
Ugh
No no
I can’t
But, you know
what I like the most
His voice!
What makes my heart leap
The absolute most
Is his voice!
It runs through me
Like
Well
Like ribbons in the air.
Wrapping my form
Comforting me
Little Lovers
Like a blanket.
Or maybe
…
A blessed tea
On a cold day.
What?
Come on,
I don’t look
That much.
But see
what I love about him
What makes my heart leap
His eyes.
They’re like fields of grains.
I want to run through them
With him
Like children in a coming of age film.
Just looking at them
It makes my stomach
Feel all warm and cozy
Like I drank a cup of coco
Oh please
I hate it!
I hate it everyday
When we have to separate.
What will happen when
We go to highschool!
What if
We go to different schools
Or he moves?
Couldn’t I just
Shrink down
And live in his ear canal?
Oh,
I don’t want to think about it.
I couldn’t even live
Without him!
What will I do
When we go to high school.
Little Lovers
What if
We go to different schools.
Or what if
I move
Far away?
I just want
to hug him
And never let go.
Absolve into your arms.
Become his heart
Yeah, I know.
But,
that way he could never leave me
And
I could listen to his voice
Forever.
I can’t tell him!
I’m just
too shy.
See,
He has this great voice
And mine is shrill.
Too high pitched
And wavy to be heard.
Ugh,
No I wouldn’t
I couldn’t
He doesn’t see me
Like I see him.
i’m too awkward.
My eyes are too dull
Regardless, Still,
When he stands there When he stands there In front of class. In front of class I imagine us I imagine us Two lovers Together forever Together in love. As two lovers God, Oh,
Little Lovers
I am screwed! I’m screwed!
