Ask the Author with Milo Arnone
TT: How long have you been writing? What interested you about it?
MA: I've been writing creatively for at least 10 years, always using the process as a means for exploration, confusion, discovery, and liberation.
TT: What inspired you to write this piece(s)?
MA: In a moment that I never expected to come, I realized I had to capture it as true to the feeling as possible. It was painful, but those visceral, full-body experiences are some of the most important to remember.
TT: Is this similar or different to other things you’ve written? How so?
MA: I'm always writing about my feelings to try and parse out where they come from; so, this piece didn't feel too different in terms of the content and process. I will say, though, that I don't often title my writings, so thinking of a title that flowed directly into the poem itself felt like an accomplishment!
