Ask the Author with Sophie Wojciechowski
TT: How long have you been writing? What interested you about it?
SW: I have been writing since I was a child. I grew up loving to read, and I still do love to read, so it's been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember to be a writer.
TT: What inspired you to write this piece(s)?
SW: I had just finished reading a new book series and re-watching a show, and I started thinking about how much I get sucked into these medias. And so I just started writing my thoughts down, and then it was done.
TT: Is this similar or different to other things you’ve written? How so?
SW: Both. I don't typically write my thoughts and feelings out the way I did, so it's different in that aspect, but similar because I do write things like that. I also have been writing more fiction stories as of late, so it was going back to what I have written more of in the past.
TT: Who is your favorite author or writer? What do you like about their work?
SW: Currently, one of my favorite authors is Sarah J. Maas. She is fantastic at being able to tell multiple stories at the same time without getting anything jumbled up or confused and her ability to foreshadow different things is exceptional.
I also really love Rick Riordan–his writing has followed me through my childhood and growing up, and I never get bored of reading his books.
Another one of my favorite writers is Benjamin Alire Sáenz. He is a poet and a writer, and his books are some of my favorites. The way he writes just makes me get lost in the story and his characters are so real. He writes a lot about real-life struggles, and I appreciate that in a book, as it makes me feel not so alone.
