Ask the Author with Emerson Stein
TT: How long have you been writing? What interested you about it?
ES: Since sixth grade. I found that it was an outlet I couldn't get anywhere else and it slowly morphed into being something I could use to create worlds only I knew of.
TT: What inspired you to write this piece(s)?
ES: It was a mix of an anime character's death and a really negative tarot reading I ended up giving someone. I felt that they were able to meld together into their own story.
TT: Is this similar or different to other things you’ve written? How so?
ES: Similar to other things I've written because I've been putting together a Tarot Card anthology, so I have a varying amount of stories or poems that match up with different cards in different ways.
TT: Who is your favorite author or writer? What do you like about their work?
ES: My favorite author is Neil Gaiman. I love that he can bend reality into his own magical worlds over and over again.
